Q: I’m not sure which therapist is right for me. Can I speak with them before scheduling an appointment?
A: Yes, you are welcome to reach out to a therapist via their email or through their Monarch profile linked in their bio. They can answer any questions you might have as well as help you set up an appointment.
Q: I’m ready to schedule, what does the process look like?
A: Please reach out to our Office Manager, Caroline, to help you get scheduled. She will send you the forms required to start therapy. We will email you a link to complete the forms in a secure client portal. This is a password-less portal and can be accessed by requesting a new link here. Links will expire after 24 hours. New clients can also request appointments online and follow the prompts to complete the forms.
Q: Do you take my insurance?
A: Fresh Air Counseling takes a variety of insurance plans including Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, CareSource, United Healthcare, Optum, Amerigroup, BC/BS, Medicare, Medicaid (under 21) and others as well as private pay out of pocket and out of network. If you have an Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) please contact our billing specialist, Caroline, to determine your benefits. Currently we are not in network with Humana and Kaiser.
Q: How much will I owe for a session when using my insurance benefits?
A: If we are in network with your insurance, you will pay your copay or deductible amount. Your insurance company has negotiated a discounted fee per session. If your deductible hasn’t been met, you will be responsible for the negotiated amount. Once your deductible is met, you will pay a coinsurance, typically a small percentage of the fee. Some insurance plans offer copays per office visit, this is typically listed on the front of your insurance card. If you still have questions, feel free to reach out to our billing specialist, Caroline.
Deductible example:
Jodi has a $3500 deductible. Her insurance will allow $100 per session to be paid by Jodi. Once Jodi has met her yearly deductible, her insurance will begin to split the bill. Jodi will move to a coinsurance amount of say 20%. So now Jodi is paying $20 a session. Jodi probably has an out-of-pocket deductible too. Once that is met, she will pay $0 a session.
Q: What if I have questions about a charge on my card or an invoice I received?
A: All invoices are listed in your secure client portal. If you still have questions, please reach out to our billing specialist, Caroline.
